Department of Organisation and Management of Pharmacy
Department of Organisation and Management in Pharmacy was founded in 1957, when it became independent from the former Department of Galenic Pharmacy. The main objective of the department`s educational and scientific work is the relationships among a pharmacy, pharmacist, drugs and society.
In the field of education the Department provides teaching of obligatory subjects Pharmaceutical Propaedeutics, Social Pharmacy, Pharmacoeconomics, Pharmacy Practice and also several obligatory elective subjects. According to the EU directives the theoretical education is connected with practical training in pharmacies and working out diploma theses.
Scientific and research activities are focused on pharmacoeconomics, pharmacoepidemiology, management in pharmacy, drug consumption, information systems in pharmacy, history of pharmacy. Scientific education is realized in PhD programme ‘Pharmacy Practice – Social Pharmacy’.
At the Department there are currently working ten teachers (1 professor, 2 associate professors, 5 assistant professors with PhD degree and 2 without PhD degree) and 4 non-pedagogical employees.
